The star, who entered showbiz as a model, claimed that acting is a far more difficult and rewarding career.
"Acting is a lot more challenging. There are a lot more risks, lot more things at stake, and I also think, when a film does well, then there is a lot more sense of satisfaction," Padukone told Real Bollywood.
The actress also revealed that she has just agreed to star in three new movies.
"I have signed three new films. One is with new director called Rohit Dhawan, he is David Dhawan's son, and his film is called Desi Boys with Akshay Kumar and John Abraham," she said.
"The one after that is Vishal Bharadwaj's film and the film after that is a film directed by Homi Adajania.
"He has made a film called Being Cyrus and that film is being produced by Illuminati Films."
