Although the star denied that there were any major plans for his birthday, Sony TV is throwing a filmed party for him.
John Abraham and Bipasha Basu will join son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai, who are flying back from South Korea for the celebrations.
Fans will present Bachchan with the giant cake, which weighs a kilogram for every year of his life.
A documentary showcasing his life and featuring a song that he and Abhishek sing together will also be shown.
The actor continues to be one of the leading figures in Bollywood, recently winning a National Award for his role in Paa. He is currently working on Rajkumar Santoshi’s Power with Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor.
