The actress is unhappy with the nickname and would prefer to be addressed by the full form of her name, reports India Today.
"I want the people to call me Aishwarya and not Ash. I do not want to spoil my good name.
"When I was new in the industry, it could be accepted if people found it difficult to pronounce my name, but now after all these years, people still call me 'Ash' and that I do not like," she said.
The Robot star added: "I urge everyone to call me Aishwarya."
The 36-year-old will next be seen in Vipul Shah's Action Replayy with Akshay Kumar.
