The next instalment, titled West Is West, sees Puri reunited with several of the original cast members in the follow-up to the British Asian hit film.
Puri expressed his concerns at filming the second part in Chandigarh, India, saying: "I was worried that filming here I would have lots of distractions because I have a lot of friends here and they would expect me to party with them, amuse them and entertain them."
Veteran Hindi film actress Ila Arun, who plays Basheera Khan in the series, spoke about her first international project.
"It's been a great journey and all the actors are wonderful. Om of course I have known for 25 years and we have a wonderful connection," said the Well Done Abba star.
The music in the production has been written by Bollywood composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
