The veteran star revealed that the latest branch of Actor Prepares will provide a platform for Indian origin actors in North America, reports The Times of India.
The 55-year-old said: "Acting is a craft which is universal and can be taught, learned and perfected. It is a craft that has now transcended regional and national barriers as reflected in productions with global themes and locales in an era of crossover films."
After opening a number of centres across India, Kher expanded to London in 2008.
Although primarily known as a Hindi film actor, Kher has worked on a number of international productions including Bend It Like Beckham, Bride and Prejudice and The Other End of The Line.
The star of almost 400 films said of the US institute: "This school will not be Bollywood-centric; it will train actors to perform anywhere."
