Arjun Kapoor, the son of filmmaker Boney Kapoor, will make his film debut in a Yash Raj Films production.
Arjun has worked on several of his father’s projects and as assistant director to Nikhil Advani in Kal Ho Na Ho but this will be his first outing in front of the camera.
A spokesperson from Yash Raj Films confirmed the news, saying: "Yes... Arjun Kapoor has been signed up for a film with YRF."
Earlier reports claimed that Boney was planning to launch his son's acting career under his own production company in Mr India 2, the sequel to the 1987 science-fiction hit starring Arjun's uncle Anil Kapoor.
Details of Arjun's first film with the production company have not yet been revealed but the spokesperson said: "We will be making an announcement of all our forthcoming films in January 2011."
