Shahid Kapoor 'to turn action man'

Shahid Kapoor is reportedly looking to re-brand himself as an action hero, moving away from the romance genre.

The actor, who played romantic leads in Vivah and Jab We Met, signed up for action film Heer & Ranja as he seeks an image change.

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has hired legendary French stunt director Philippe Guegan to train Kapoor.

"Action is certainly on my mind. Sabir's film will have lots of it, but it's too early to reveal our plans," Kapoor said.

Vic Armstrong, who was Harrison Ford's stunt double in the Indiana Jones series, has also reportedly been taken on to work with the actor to build up his muscles for at least two months prior to shooting.
