The actor said the film was kept on hold while Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman was busy.
"Our film was stalled once it got to the background score stage. We wanted AR Rahman to do the background score. This was around that time Slumdog Millionaire hit the screens. The Oscars happened, and then he got busy with work in LA," said Ahmed.
While the composer recommended other musicians for the job, the makers of the film said he was the only man for the job and claim it was worth the wait.
Ada… A Way of Life will be released on December 24.
