Director Anand Rai said he would like Kangana to put on weight because "it is important that people identify with her character".
According to a source quoted by India Today: "It's a bold decision on Kangana's part, considering most of her rivals are desperate to present a skinny look these days. But Kangna has always been a little unusual in her choice of films and roles."
Ranaut has three other films also in production in 2011 including Priyadarshan's Tezz and Happy New Year.
"Come to think of it, she might actually find it difficult to gain weight because of her busy schedule," the source added.
