The actress, who appeared in the Johar production Kal Ho Naa Ho, is said to be angered by media reports circulating the story.
Her rep told The Times of India: "There is no truth to the story which has left both Sonali Bendre and her family highly grieved and disturbed."
They added: "Sonali belongs to a respectable family, is a mother and has always shared a very warm and cordial relationship with the media."
The former model is reportedly planning to take legal action regarding the publication of the story.
Bendre, who in recent times has rarely appeared in Bollywood projects, has been a trending topic on Twitter in India since the story broke.
