The actor is reported to have been given more scenes than co-stars Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan, following the success of last year's Dabangg.
Anees Bazmee, the director of the project, told Mumbai Mirror: "We've scrapped the original idea of a sequel.
"I'm writing a new version of New Entry Mein Entry, which will have a lot more of Salman Khan than the original.”
The filmmaker, who has worked on a number of occasions with Khan, added: "His fans will be delighted with his role in the film."
The original production was one of the biggest hits of the year when it was released.
