The No Entry star took part in the low-key event, ahead of a larger celebration in Goa scheduled for February 19.
According to The Times of India, new husband Bhupati blogged: "Meet Mr and Mrs Bhupati folks! The civil Ceremony happened around an hour back in Mumbai."
Dutta and Bhupati are said to have been dating for a number of years, but kept their relationship away from the public eye until the tennis player's divorce was finalised.
The celebrity couple are expected to have a Christian wedding at the Taj Aguada in Goa later this week.
The former pagaent winner had been earlier linked to model Kelly Dorji and actor Dino Morea.
