The actress's co-star Ali Zafar reportedly persuaded her to sing the song composed by Sohail Sen.
A source told the Mumbai Mirror: "Katrina was not really in the mood to try out something new.
"She has just started to get a grasp over her spoken Hindi. It was Ali who convinced her.”
Kaif has previously sung children's nursery rhymes for an album compiled by Slumdog Millionaire composer AR Rahman.
