According to Mid Day, the 60-year-old actor gave 125 press interviews in three days when he visited London earlier this month.
The actor said: "Agneepath is an important film. I play the role of an honest cop, which was played by Vikram Gokhale in the original 1990 film.
"I knew I couldn't be present in London for the premiere [of West is West], so I went earlier this month to London for press interviews."
Although Johar often allows actors to pursue other commitments during filming, he did not give Om Puri a day off on this occasion.
"The rest of the cast was there," Puri added. "My presence would've made a difference since I am the principal character."
Johar is producing the remake of Yash Johar's Agneepath.
