The actor, who debuted last year with the commercially successful Band Baajaa Baraat, spoke about his experiences at the FICCI Frames conference in Mumbai.
"Unfortunately the casting couch exists in our industry. I don't think it exists in the high rung studios because the stakes are too high, the money involved and the people involved are too professional," Singh told The Times of India.
The 25-year-old, recently accused of being self-absorbed by Anushka Sharma, said that the casting couch gave Indian cinema a bad name.
Speaking at the event, Singh announced: "Fortunately or unfortunately, I did have the experience of meeting such sleazy gentleman. So it definitely exists."
Actress Payal Rohatgi recently shared her experience of the casting couch, making allegations against filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee.
