The Ganster actor received the sentence from a Mumbai court earlier today, India Today reports.
The actor, who had previously claimed that he had been framed in the sexual assault case, is said to have been close to tears when the verdict was announced.
The original complaint had been lodged in June 2009 by the 20-year-old maid of the married actor, after she told police the actor had raped her in his residence.
The 38-year-old's long-delayed project Har Pal now looks unlikely to release.
The actor is expected to appeal against the jail sentence ruling by the court in Shivdi.
