IIFA Award nominations announced

The nominations for the Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2011 have been announced.

The candidates for the major categories were unveiled at an industry event in Mumbai.

Actor and awards show host Boman Irani commented at the launch: "I am honoured to host the Awards for the fifth time this year. It is always wonderful to be a part of this larger-than-life event and hosting is an assignment that I look forward to each year."

In a press statement, nominees for 'Best Film' were revealed as Dabangg, Rajneeti, My Name Is Khan, Band Baaja Baaraat and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai.

In the category 'Leading Role (Male)', actors Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan will be competing to win at the Videocon IIFA Weekend.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Vidya Balan and Kareena Kapoor have all been nominated for the 'Leading Role (Female)' award.

This year's sold-out awards show takes place in Toronto between June 23 and June 25.
