The Wake Up Sid producer attended a private screening of the actress-turned-filmmaker's latest film Shor in the City.
He told Mid Day: "It was very kind of Ekta to arrange an intimate screening. I am extremely proud and thrilled for her.
"She is producing pathbreaking content. Shor is a proud film with superb performances."
Other attendees included Tarun Mansukhani, Punit Malhotra, Neelam and Samir Soni, according to the paper.
The film follows the escapades of three Indian men who cross paths while seeking their fortune in Mumbai, and their romantic involvement with a young woman played by British-born Preethi Desai
