The actor was referring to her famous item dance to the song 'Sheila ki Jawaani' in Tees Maar Khan, where she fends off several men while wearing a silk sheet.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Imran said: "I want Katrina. Because I like her 'Jawaani'."
"Jawaani" means youthfulness, with the song title translating as "the youth of Sheila".
He added that she was also more "curvaceous" than her contenders, who were named as Deepika Padukone and Mallika Sherawat.
However, Aamir Khan, who is producing the controversial bachelor film, said this week that the film's makers want a fresh face for the sequence.
Imran recently confessed that he had enjoyed playing a "bad boy" in the film about three messy bachelors.
