The two Bollywood veterans have once again paired up for the comedy, after they first appeared together in Sholay and later in films Baghban and Veer-Zaara.
Bachchan told The Times of India: "Bbuddah does have an emotional angle for me with Hema Malini.
"I cannot say anything more because it will reveal the story."
The star added: "I have been mostly playing the patriarch, very compassionate, sober sort of guy. That is more commensurate with my age but this came along and I said, 'Fine, I will do it'."
Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap will see him reprising his character Vijay from his earlier film Deewar, playing the character as an angry old man forced to battle criminals.
