Kapoor, who stars alongside Clive Owen in the movie, plays a Mumbai cop fighting against the corrupt relationship between property speculators and his colleagues.
Speaking to NDTV, Kapoor said: "I have finished shooting for Mission: Impossible 4 and it is now in post-production. I will start shooting for Cities. It's my pleasure to work with Clive Owen, whom I admire a lot.
"Cities will be shot in New York, London and Mumbai. The filming will begin in October, but my part will be shot in November and December."
A star of Indian cinema, Kapoor rose to international fame in Danny Boyle's Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire in 2008.
He has also worked on US TV series 24 and is one of the few Indian actors to have achieved commercial success in the US.
