When asked who they felt would make the ideal Indian celebrity father, 39 percent of respondents voted for Khan.
"The poll reflects the mindset of today's youth," said exec Gourav Rakshit. "Although times are changing, qualities like generosity and masculinity are still admired as 'fatherly' traits amongst Indians."
The Dabaang star's single status did not appear to sway public opinion, and the survey seems to indicate that the Indian people want to see Khan settle down with a family.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi came in second place with 31 percent of the votes.
Other contenders in the survey were actor Ranbir Kapoor, who previously said he wants to be a father by the time he is 32, and cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli.
The poll received responses from over 9820 people across India.
