The actress, who started filming on the Madhur Bhandarkar project in early June, is expected to complete her commitments on the film within 45 days, The Times of India reports.
"Madhur is not worried about Heroine's promotions or how Ash's pregnancy will affect the film's success," a source told the newspaper.
The film celebrity, who married Abhishek Bachchan in 2007, has been the subject of long-running media speculation regarding her possible pregnancy.
"We shouldn't forget that Ash is a popular and successful actress and her getting married didn't affect her fan following. She enjoys a loyal fan following and it will not be affected by her becoming a mum," added the source.
The filmmaker had originally asked Kareena Kapoor to appear as the lead in the project, which was announced at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
