The actress will soon appear alongside Mallika Sherawat in Double Dhamaal.
She told Mumbai Mirror: "A lot of people are saying that I have successfully reinvented myself and with the success of Tanu Weds Manu, people are obviously accepting me in the comedy genre."
Ranaut added that she took the script on because it made her "roll on the floor with laughter".
Her breakthrough film was the fictional exposé of the modelling world Fashion, where she played a model who finds herself struggling to cope with success.
She recently denied that she had been asking her co-star Sherawat for advice on making it in Hollywood.
