The actor, who is said to have a obsession with technology, introduced his co-stars to the electric vehicle during time off from shooting the comic production.
"The boys including Arshad [Warsi], Riteish [Deshmukh], Ashish [Chowdhry] and Jaaved [Jaafery] were constantly arguing over who gets to ride the Segway first and this wasn't only restrained to the cast," a unit source said.
Director Indra Kumar also used the vehicle to move around the studio issuing instructions.
"Within a few days, everyone seemed to have become a pro riding it. They liked it so much that they even included it in the film while shooting the comic caper," added the source.
Deshmukh, Warsi, Jaafery and Chowdhry reprise their roles alongside Dutt in the sequel to 2007's Dhamaal.
The follow-up also introduces Mallika Sherawat and Kangna Ranaut as new additions to the cast.
Double Dhamaal, which premiered at the IIFA Awards, releases worldwide today.
