Sonu Nigam performed the song 'Thank You For The Legacy' with Jermaine Jackson before an audience of 25,000 at the show in Toronto's Ricoh Coliseum.
Speaking to the audience, Jackson said: "I want to say how much I love you, because I see Michael in each one of you,'' NDTV reports.
Nigam said that he wrote the special song after Michael's death, and thanked Jermaine for joining him in singing it.
Earlier, Jackson told a press conference that his family watched Indian films every Saturday when they first moved to California.
"We were watching you from day one as we were on the journey of becoming the Jackson 5," he said.
"We loved the dance, the costumes, the entertainment, the set design and that's what inspired us a great deal. So I'm very honoured to be here.
"It's a wonderful opportunity because Michael loved India so much. The music always made us want to go visit India and just being here with the IIFA awards is a dream come true."
When asked whether he would ever perform in Bollywood, Jackson replied: "Insha'Allah, hopefully very soon."
Hosted by Karan Johar and Anushka Sharma, the four-hour long IIFA Rocks concert featured a fusion of music, fashion and dance.
