The real-life mum-of-two revealed that she was not prepared to perform such a role in Anil Kapoor's Freaky Friday remake.
Dixit told Hindustan Times: "I think Anil mentioned to some people that he wanted to cast me, and the whole issue just snowballed.
"I honestly didn't feel I was or am ready to play such roles."
Dixit also expressed her thoughts on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's recent falling out with Madhur Bhandarkar, following the Raavan star's pregnancy announcement.
Speaking at Varun Bahl's Delhi Couture Week show, Dixit said: "I have worked in this industry for eons, got married, had children and none of the filmmakers I worked with had to resort to any contracts or go public with any issues."
The US-based actor was last seen in the Yash Raj production Aaja Nachle, in which she played a New York dance teacher returning to small town India.
Dixit revealed last month that she would like to work with former co-star Salman Khan in the future.
