The actor lent his voice to the Hollywood action blockbuster, playing his son's favourite character Optimus Prime.
Kumar said: "A father always wants to be a superhero for his son. I got the opportunity to do so through Optimus Prime."
The star is reported to have undertaken the dubbing project for free, saying that he was lucky to land the opportunity.
Kumar previously worked alongside Sylvester Stallone and Denise Richards in the crossover project Kambakkht Ishq.
He will be making his Hollywood debut in Breakaway, an Indian-Canadian film about ice hockey.
Kumar is currently shooting on three new productions: Desi Boyz, Housefull 2 and Joker.
