The actor first shot the sequences earlier this year, before the release of the Ajay Devgn film, Mumbai Mirror reports.
A source said: "Why repeat something that has already been done? The reshoot was pretty smooth. But yes, this increases the budget of the film no doubt.
"But that's okay. Producer of Force, Vipul Shah, wants the best for his forthcoming film and he is leaving no stone unturned.
"The scenes, which were eventually canned, were more breathtaking than what we have in Singham."
Genelia D'Souza co-stars in what will be Abraham's first action film since 2004's Dhoom.
Nishikant Kamat's directorial debut has already attracted controversy after it was claimed by a priest that he actually married D'Souza and Abraham in real life for a wedding scene.
