Abraham refused to use cables for the sequence, in which he flings the motorbike at his pursuers, Mid Day reports.
Action director Allan Amin told the site: "John is a physical guy so the action was all high octane. We did use cables for certain sequences, but when it needed to be raw like the bike scene, he did it himself."
Producer Vipul Shah added: "I was not on the sets the day John was shooting for the scene.
"When Nishikant called me to say he was planning to do it without a harness, I told him not to allow him to do the same as he could hurt his back or knee.
"But he was confident and insisted on performing it."
Force is Abraham's first action film since 2004's Dhoom.
The actor had to reshoot some key action sequences in the new film because of their similarity to scenes in Singham.
Singham and Force both centre on a maverick policeman who tackles criminals in his spare time.
