AR Rahman nominated for World Soundtrack Award

Rahman recorded the song with Dido, and received great praise from the film's director, Danny Boyle.
The composer tweeted: "If I Rise from 127 Hours nominated for the World Soundtrack Awards in the category - 'Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film'. The event will be held at Ghent, Belguim on the 22nd of October."
The 45-year-old also said he was surprised to be recognised by an international music magazine.
"It's a great honour for me to be selected as one of 'Tomorrow's World Music Icons' in the current issue of Songlines," he tweeted.
Rahman achieved international success after winning two Oscars for his compositions in Danny Boyle's internationally acclaimed film Slumdog Millionaire .
In 2009, Rahman was featured in the annual Time 100 list in recognition of his contribution to international music.
