The entire cast of the film is expected to attend the event at Muzic in Toronto.
Russell Peters, Rob Lowe and three-time Grammy Award winner Ludacris will be present at the launch alongside Kumar.
Live performances from a range of musicians including Ludacris and RDB are planned for the official soundtrack release.
Kumar is reportedly the first Bollywood star to produce a Hollywood film.
The actor had earlier filmed a number of movies in Canada, including Thank You and Humko Deewana Kar Gaye.
Breakaway is described as a gripping, cross-cultural hockey drama set in the Indo-Canadian community of Toronto.
The album launch will take place on September 9.
