Mumbai Mirror claims that the music director based 'Teri Meri' on an Eastern European folk track.
Reshammiya, however, has denied the charges made against him.
"'Teri Meri' is a raag based original composition," said the composer. "Salman bhai had a folk melody in mind, which I developed into a purely Indian raag based melody with alaaps and Indian phrased melody. There is no controversy at all to this."
The tabloid alleges that the song is musically derived from the widely-known 'La Betleem (Down There in Bethlehem)', which has been previously released by a number of Romanian recording artists.
The musician-turned-actor, 38, released the official trailer of new acting project Damadamm with Bodyguard.
