Rajinikanth fans express anger at 'The Dirty Picture'

Following rumours that Naseeruddin Shah's character in the project is based on the Tamil cinema actor, fans have demanded the removal of a number of key scenes.
Vidya Balan plays the controversial role of Silk Smitha in the upcoming production.
The 60-year-old Endhiran actor has collaborated with Smitha in a number of projects, which fans say has acted as inspiration for the role played by Shah.
Rajinikanth's followers have reportedly threatened to protest against the film's release if the contentious scenes remain in place.
Following the unveiling of the first look earlier this month, The Dirty Picture became a top Indian Twitter trend.
The Dirty Picture releases December 2.
