Shah Rukh Khan's Ra.One faces competition from two other projects scheduled to release on the same date.

Himesh Reshammiya's Damadamm! and Esha Deol vehicle Tell Me O Kkhuda are expected to open alongside the sci-fi movie.

Director Anubhav Sinha recently said of his film: "Ra.One has traversed from being an audacious dream to surrealism. Or am I living a dream? It was a simple story needed to be told through an uncharted terrain."

In 2009, Reshammiya was reportedly seen buying tickets for his own movies following low opening weekend numbers.

His most recent project Kajraare had a limited theatrical release in just one Mumbai cinema.

Deol's long-delayed comeback Tell Me O Kkhuda was directed by her mother Hema Malini, who replaced Mayur Puri following creative differences.

Khan faced earlier Diwali release competition in 2006 with Don versus Jaan-e-mann, and the following year with Om Shanti Om against Saawariya.

Ra.One, Damadamm! and Tell Me O Kkhuda are scheduled to release on October 27.
