Ranbir Kapoor: 'Kissing scenes are awkward'

Ranbir Kapoor has compared kissing on screen to shooting action sequences.

The Wake Up Sid actor can currently be seen starring opposite former girlfriend Nargis Fakhri in Rockstar, playing a small-town boy who becomes a famous musician.

Kapoor told Hindustan Times: "For me, a kissing scene is just like an action sequence. Normally, I finish off the kissing scene in a single take.

"I do love stories most of the time. Naturally kissing scenes do come up. I don't say daalo [put in] kissing scenes. Moreover, it's too awkward to kiss a girl in front of a hundred people on the sets and in front of camera and lights."

Kapoor reportedly dated his co-star Fakhri during the shooting of the film, prompting his break-up with girlfriend Katrina Kaif.

Kapoor will next be seen in producer Karan Johar's Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani opposite another ex, Deepika Padukone.

On the relationship, he said: "I had a relationship with Deepika. She still continues to be my good friend. But the issue on which our relationship broke is a personal matter.

"It will be very unfair to the girl if I speak about that, because Deepika is single and may marry someone in future."

Kapoor recently admitted that 80% of the rumours about his complicated love life "are true".
