Anil Kapoor: 'Sonam Kapoor inspired me to direct'

Anil Kapoor has revealed that his daughter Sonam Kapoor inspired him to consider directing a film.

The Slumdog Millionaire star will next be seen in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

New Kerala quotes him as telling Zoom TV: "Sonam inspires me a lot; she inspired me to direct a film."

He added: "I feel it's more difficult for a celebrity's child to make a mark in the film industry rather than a newcomer."

Anil has previously said that he continues to advise his daughter on her career despite being busy in Hollywood.

The veteran Bollywood star has not yet acted with Sonam, who has appeared in hits such as Mausam and Aisha.

She recently denied that her father has had Botox in order to further his career in Hollywood.

"[My dad] has more energy than me and my sister put together," she said.

"He looks so young without any external help. He's a rock star dad. I don't know how he does it."

The actress went on to say that she has good genes and that her family is "health-oriented".
