The actor claimed to be undeterred by the poor box office results of his Canadian co-production Speedy Singhs.
"A film's release date is extremely essential. At times, it actually ends up deciding its fate at the box office. My first international co-production came during the shraddh period. We couldn't release it on another date because we had a number of prints and it had to be a simultaneous release across the world," Kumar told The Hindustan Times.
"My partners were confident of the date, and I decided to go with what they chose. I'm happy with the response the film received everywhere it went. Critics liked it and so did the audience. Even monetarily, we didn't suffer."
The action star, who is currently filming Housefull 2, said he has not decided what kind of film he plans to internationally co-produce next. However, it will be from a different genre.
"I don't know if it will be on the same scale as Speedy Singhs or will it be notches higher or whether we'll produce something on a smaller scale," he said. "The pressure is not about the size of the project, but about how different we can make it from my first movie.
"I'm not even thinking about whom I want to work with next. As of now, I don't have a single new script. Once I have something genuinely interesting and engaging, I'll start running around again."
Kumar recently said he wants to be involved in more credible films.
