The actor is working on English Vinglish with director Gauri Shinde, while husband Boney Kapoor remains in Mumbai, reports The Times of India.
"Sridevi and Gauri are bonding majorly during the schedule of the film. Boney won't be joining Sri as he's busy with work," revealed a source.
The production concerns a middle-class Indian housewife who travels overseas to improve her English language skills.
Since the project was announced at the beginning of the year, the Lamhe star is said to have been getting into shape for the role.
"Sridevi is very excited about her comeback. She has hit the gym and is regularly going to a nutritionist to get into shape," they added.
The star will be seen opposite Amitabh Bachchan in the upcoming film.
As well as Bollywood, Sridevi has worked in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada cinema.
