The Sri Lankan star would not kiss lead actor Hrithik Roshan in the sci-fi project, Mumbai Mirror reports.
"She had refused to wear a bikini for the film. Somehow that issue was sorted out. And now, she refused to do the kissing scene," said a source.
After talks broke down during an emergency meeting at Filmistan Studios, director Rakesh Roshan is said to have made the decision to recast the role.
The actor's business manager stated, however, that his client had opted out due to scheduling problems.
"It is very unfortunate that Jacqueline is no longer a part of the Krrish sequel because of date issues. We tried our level best to work out dates for the next five to six months but things were simply not working out," he said.
Actor Chitrangda Singh had orginally been linked to the negative character role, before being replaced by Fernandez.
The Aladin star previously suggested that the Bollywood film industry is "ruthless".
