Priyanka Chopra refuses song over Akshay Kumar rumours?

Priyanka Chopra has reportedly turned down a singing role in a film co-starring rumoured ex-flame Akshay Kumar.

She was approached to do the item number by director Rohit Dhawan, according to DNA India.

A source told the paper: "The filmmakers were keen on having Priyanka on board, as they felt that her tag of desi girl went with the film's name and theme and even approached her for it.

"Akshay is very professional and we don't think he would have objected to Priyanka doing the song."

The actress is currently working on her debut album and cited scheduling problems.

Another source added: "It's certainly not something that could not be worked out, but apparently Priyanka Chopra was too busy with her own music album.

"Though she did take time out for promotional activities with actor Shah Rukh Khan, there was no confirmation forthcoming for the song, fuelling speculation that maybe the past rumours had something to do with it."

Earlier in the week, Chopra performed a cover of Mariah Carey's 'Hero' on the celebrity show India's Most Desirable.
