The anchor of the Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? said that work on the show completed on Thursday evening.
"THE LAST DAY OF THE KBC SHOOT just over ..a sense of indescribable emotion ..will miss the team, but most importantly the contestants (sic)," the star posted on Twitter.
Shah Rukh Khan took over presenting duties on the third series, after Bachchan fell ill part of the way through the previous run.
The Indian format of the show was used as a backdrop to Slumdog Millionaire, with Anil Kapoor playing the role of fictitious anchor Prem Kumar.
Bachchan is reported to have lent his vocals to the soundtrack of 2011 release Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap.
Professor Rachel Dwyer from The School of Oriental and African Studies described the star as "a great communicator of moral sentiment" earlier this year.
