A wide range of Bollywood and regional movie clips will be available to watch on Vuclip in 13 Indian languages including Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Punjabi, Oriya, Rajasthani, Kashmiri, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
"We are thrilled to announce that during the pilot testing stage itself, as many as 2 million movie lovers visited Starlight Cinema generating over 11 million video views in just 100 days," commented Salman Hussain, vice president - business development and managing director, India and Middle East.
Starlight Cinema is expected to offer users the option of watching shortened feature films, movie clips and trailers, which will be available to view through even low-end feature phones.
"In order to meet the ever-increasing demand for exclusive movie content on mobile phones, we are working with many of the key content providers to digitise more such movie clips from as many as 8,500 movies," Hussain added.
Titles in the catalogue of the newly-launched platform include the upcoming Ranbir Kapoor starrer Barfee as well as Rajneeti, Guzaarish, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai and I Hate Luv Storys.
The company has said that access to trailers of current Hollywood movies such as The Adventures of Tintin and The Awakening will be available to mobile viewers.
Vuclip announced in October that Katrina Kaif had beaten Britney Spears to become the most-searched celebrity on the site.
