Nargis Fakhri moves to Mumbai

Nargis Fakhri has decided to drop modelling to concentrate on her acting career.

The former America's Next Top Model semi-finalist has shifted base from her native New York to Mumbai in a bid to establish herself in Bollywood.

She told Hindustan Times: "Apparently, I'm no longer referred to as a model. And it doesn't make sense to continue either. I enjoy this new-found craft and would like to see where I can go with it. I'm very excited.

"I don't want to read too much into [reviews], but the reactions have been great. I look at the negative comments too in a positive light. What one person may say as criticism may be what someone else really liked.

"And from that, I can learn to be much better."

Fakhri made her Bollywood debut in Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar, opposite rumoured boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.

The actress admitted this month to Digital Spy that she turned to acting after becoming bored of modelling.
