The action thriller, which was given an 'Adults Only' certificate, sees Kumar and John Abraham go undercover as a male stripping team.
Kumar told Mumbai Mirror: "I wouldn't say that the censor board wrongly imposed an A certificate on Desi Boyz. I guess they do their job rather well.
"But, if you ask what my personal take on Desi Boyz is, I would say that it is the cleanest 'A' film I have seen in my life."
Kumar added: "There is no doubt that an 'A' film loses out on at least 25% of its potential audience.
"A section of the moviegoers who bring kids to the theatre are not aware that the movie is 'A' and they return home. The other section that is aware, just does not watch the film without their kids."
In November, Abraham dismissed comparisons to the buddy comedy Dostana, which saw him and Abhishek Bachchan pretending to be lovers to score a luxury apartment.
