The video for the song 'Mujhko Pehchaan Lo' was choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant for the sequel to Akhtar's 2006 hit Don.
A crew member told The Hindustan Times: "It has come out very nicely. It was a collective decision by Farhan, Shah Rukh and Vaibhavi, and the entire song looks sleek and stylish."
Akhtar explained that they decided to break with convention when shooting the song.
"Instead of an oft-repeated song and dance treatment, we've opted to visualise the song as an action scene," he said. "And to see Don vanquish his opponents while casually singing the words is surreal, but very intriguing."
Merchant, who has worked on songs such as 'Kajra Re' and 'Chance Pe Dance' said the filming method was new to her.
"Shah Rukh is lip-syncing and performing some stunts for the song. All of this is a very unique experience for me," she said.
Don 2 will be released on December 23.
