Abhishek Bachchan: 'Fatherhood is indescribable'

Abhishek Bachchan has revealed that he is still "overwhelmed" at being a father.

The actor's wife Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan recently gave birth to a baby girl, who has not been officially named yet.

Bachchan told The Times of India: "The joy and happiness it gives you or the emotions you go through when you hold your child in your arms for the first time are indescribable!

"I really thought that there was going be this moment when a ray of light from heaven would come pouring in, background music would start playing with angels singing but none of that happens!"

Bachchan added that his brother-in-law Nikhil Nanda gave him advice on what to do when the baby arrived.

"I remember my brother-in-law had told me when my niece was born: 'Abhishek, people will write books and give you tons of advice about what you should or should not do but the minute you hold your child in your arms you will know. It will happen naturally'," he said.

In August, Bachchan decided to return to star in Dhoom 3 after cancelling his requested paternity leave.
