The cast of the sequel to the 2005 release Kya Kool Hain Hum began work on the project last month, Hindustan Times reports.
"The six years just fell away and it was like a blast from the past," said Kapoor after shooting a beachside song sequence for the follow-up.
In spite of the poor critical reception of the first film, the actor suggested that producers and audiences were now more accepting of adult-themed projects.
"The film is a sex comedy and these jokes are its unique selling point," explained Kapoor. "Earlier this year Delhi Belly proved that there's an audience for adult content, and now The Dirty Picture has people returning home moved by Silk [Smitha]'s story rather than mad at a sleaze fest."
The actor reunites with Ritiesh Deshmukh on the adult comedy, with Bipasha Basu, Neha Sharma and Sarah Jane Dias joining the brand for the sequel.
