Rana Daggubati is training with real police in preparation for his role in the crime thriller Department.
The actor has reportedly even taken up a similar gym workout routine so he can have the same physique as a law officer.
A source told Hindustan Times: "The officers had a chat with Rana and his trainer and worked on his workout regime and offered complete guidance for two weeks to help him do justice to the role.
"They even suggested that Rana sport a moustache in the film for a strong and rugged look."
Daggubati confirmed that he had undertaken preparation for the film, which pits the police against local gangsters.
He said: "I wanted to get all the details and nuances right. I got to spend some time with the police officers in the gym.
"Since a workout regime for a police officer focuses on strength and stamina, we had to change up my routine to get that look right."
In October, Bipasha Basu denied that she was romantically involved with Daggubati, who she co-stars with in Dum Maaro Dum.
