Injured Ritesh Deshmukh celebrates birthday

A number of Bollywood figures have sent 'get well' and birthday wishes to injured actor Ritesh Deshmukh.

The star, who celebrates his birthday on December 17, is currently recovering from an injury on his right foot.

Deshmukh posted on his Twitter account: "Thank you all for your wishes - i had to operate on my toe, am recovering now - but have to go n shoot - will try n hide my toe in the shots- :) (sic)."

The Housefull star was sent a congratulatory message from actress girlfriend Genelia D'Souza.

"Happy birthday 2d bestest, most adorable n d sweetest person I hav evr known n vl ever knw, @Riteishd u make life special by just bein in it," she posted.

Karan Johar wrote: "To my closest friend and family @Riteishd....happy birthday!!!! Have the most special year ever!!!!"

Don 2 director Farhan Akhtar sent: "And happy birthday to 1 helluva nice guy @Riteishd ... Rock On buddy"

"Riteishd hey ritesh many many happy returns of the day, have a super one!!!" wrote Tusshar Kapoor.

Deshmukh and D'Souza are expected to marry in 2012.

The couple first began seeing each other on the set of their Bollywood debut Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003.
